Well, I'm alive, as you can tell... And.... I'm back!

First of all - I just want to thank all of for being patient... Also thank you for your constant revisitation of this little blog of mine. Statistics would just blew my mind every time I'd come here. I'm beyond thankful.
From now on - I'll try my best to write as often as much is possible for me to do it, cause... yeah .... I just feel guilty for not being active here. And you guys are such sweethearts coming back almost every day to check have I posted something new and all..so ..
I do have crazy schedule (I started to illustrate for a bit, also I've been learning how to sew things... cuz like... #stayfocusedstaycreative (insta hashtag that so you can take a look on my embarrassing drawing skills and stuff...). Anyway...those are the things that has been distracting me from doing my beloved kpop mv reviews.... But don't worry, I haven't missed a single comeback (I think so). I kept my eye on everything that has been going on in the kpop world, so I'm still pretty updated about errthingg.
There were a few really good cbs and debuts(Day6 - like I adore) during my hiatus, but let's have a fresh start, shall we!

I think this is my favorite Got7's title song so far..
They've changed their music style a little bit, also there's a huge concept reverse - No more sweet boy concepts (please!!!). Got7, stick to this one (please!!!).

Ohmydays..... They're finally debuting... MONSTA X... Last year they were (not the group, all of them individually) part of a kinda survival reality show - 'NO MERCY'!! Remember? Remember me being amazed by Kihyun's performance/interpretation of Shinee's Jonghyun's "Hyeya"? (you don't? go and check it rn )... So, yeah... that reality program was their debut..kinda (half of the competitors were eliminated).... but lucky 7 were lucky, and they've become members of MONSTAX.... ... Shall I put out there few important facts: I love Kihyun's voice... Shownu's too (even tho I prefer his 'passionate dancer' side)... Not to long ago, in one of the previous posts, I've mentioned how I like this particular voice/rap of an artist who took part in a massive collaboration song 'Feedback'...He goes by the name - Adoonga... Well, guess what! I was 60% sure that he is I.M (one of the chosen members for Monsta X)... Turns out - He actually is! So, I'll add him too on my 'favMonstaXmembers'list... I can not, and I won't forget to say that Wonho is painfully attractive. Jooheon is the cutest cutie ever, and like Kihyun and I.M, he also got the chance to be feat in one of the coolest colab song ever - Hyolyn, San E, JooHeon - Coach Me... He is so cute... and so talented... I'm looking forward to his participation in 'Show Me The Money' new season. Minhyuk and Hyungwon (esp Hyungwon) are ok too, but... I can't add all of them on my favs list... or can I?.. And now.... 3...2...1...play
....Khgrhrhhhhhhhhhhhh... Chaotic! Jooheon bro, what are those braids...and that gun??? This set reminds me of BigBang's 'Fantastic Baby' or the latest Uniq's 'E.O.E.O' MV sets....cause wire fences... Omg, camera is moving too fast..can't see anything... Cute prisoners, tho! Oh, we have another 'e.o.e.o' sound. Heeheehee, Wonho - I see you, I see those abs! 'Prison Break' scenes... Take it easy Jooheon, nobody's chasing you :)). 'Excuse my charisma'!!! Finally, Kihyun's few seconds of fame...that VOICE! Ok, now they're chasing them... Shownu's dance break shot/singing...ok... not impressed with the clothes..and his moves could have been much better...but look at him smiling - precious...LOOK AT IT! They escaped but.... they're back on the same old track...gambling and stuff...No, no, no! ?Oh, another dance break - much better... Shownu and Hyungwon(?)... Hyungwon dude, you surprised me...nice, nice. I appreciate the clothes this time. Why do I have a feeling that this was...very... hip hopish song (I didn't expect that...considering that there is quite a few damn good vocals in this group)... This song, if u ask me, is made only for rappers (Jooheon and I.M) to shine...don't know why tho (probably the company's just following the trend... playing safe).... The vocals are there, but not there... I.M's deep voice at the end - yes. Police again - Run! Hmm.... I have mixed feelings about this... With the dance and the fact that they are looking fin fine - I'm impressed... But with the J. and I.M's domination throughout the song/lyrics - I'm not sure I'm 100% satisfied... These two are in focus, the rest are just present kinda - Their talents are def underestimated in this song.. On the other hand, I do understand that is very hard to share parts equally, cuz when you have 7 members, it can get a little bit crowded. I'm just gonna drop the awkward talk, and try to concentrate on the members' hotness. Props for the Starship Ent. staff - you guys did a good job. They're looking amazing...Even tho, only Minhyuk changed his hair color/style... It's a mood booster song, isn't it? I'm not always a fan of those... The lyrics - neaahh, ok.

My expectations are high bc @____@ he is my fav (one of three fav, tho..) members in BEAST. You probably remember him from my 'TopOfKpop2014: Hairstyle Edition' post... Were I have been..let's say...fangirling over his mysteriousnessnessness, his charming aura, and ofc his cute hairstyle. Well, guess what - He is BACK with that exact haircut/color... I mean... I influence people, I know...I know :P.

A real baby..ahahahah...omg...It gets weirder and weirder... Aigoooo... Daesung - long (10000000years) time no see.... Beautiful voice - we missed it so much. He has nice set... - I like fairy tale sets - this is like - Little Mermaid and her prince! Ooohooo...lots of touching... And then, white-haired Seungri appears with his haircolormatching girl... Calm singing. Oh, snap... she disappears... They are falling (and landing on another planet...(?)). Rice cakes(also suggestive).... Little kindergartenish dance... To sum up my impressions - Well... That was WEIRD!
No eng subs - YG, I'm disappointed! But here they are...(naughtyones)
GD is the only one who doesn't have a real woman in that single shot.
Kinda slow jam... Those drums and the guitar - almost like pop band performance...
I'm okay with it, I guess. It may or may not grow on me later....

Depressive, but I like it. I like this mv so much... Lots of acting... good acting, actually.
Little details like: Truth+dare on GD's neck, or that little hanging rope tattoo; 'Sin Will Find You' words on a cross; Baseball bat with 'MAD' word on it... All five of them are lost, hopeless and pretty aggressive in this video... T.O.P is the worst - he is like a serial killer, psychopath - looks scary as f... Poor Daesung, I mean like - Yuhu, police!? There are bullies everywhere! And Taeyang - suicide...just NO!
On the brighter side - No one looks like a loser at the end, last scene- I see five, incredibly good looking artists walkin on the street :).
Once again - THE CLOTHES.... Like, yes...every piece of it is just perfect!
I've found my new song addiction - 'Loser' by Big Bang.
The song (audio) was released few days ago... I liked it! The lyrics are nice... The MV- on the other hand... No matter how hard they try to look older/more mature... They are still cute little boys, and this video confirms that. Like,idk, it's a song with a heavy feel/story, but when you see them running around, smiling.... kids! Handsome, talented kids, tho!
The general message(behind the mv, cuz the song is obviously hella love song), if I'm not wrong, is that - When the times are rough, the power of true friendship is the cure... or at least, it can help you feel less shity... So, trow away those crazy thoughts, painkillers, unhealthy food and whatnot... And go outside... Spend time with your friends.. Cuz friends have that healing power... Friends help each other.
MV's all about that... Even tho, there are few scenes that I didn't really understood - maknae Jongkook's scene with that black car; V's face after he knock down girl's violent bf... Anyway, the last scene is very peaceful and kinda full of hope (like... new day-new chance).. The only thing that confuses me is - why they have used black&white for that scene...? There may or may not be hidden meaning behind it...
Nice fading filter usage in the video - makes it kinda gloomy, but at the same time warm. Single close up shots are, like always, gold. I like Hope's close ups the most... also Rap Mon's...V's too.... And then - tears! I swear, when I see those perfect faces/skin complexions in those close ups... Like, personally, I feel offended by how perfect they are. :P
And ofc - CLOTHES! V's outfit is my favorite ( Nice acting V, btw!). Actually, they're all well dressed... Casual.
As for the music - it's aweeesome. Also - just listen to those 7 different voices/emotions that they throwing at us... N.i.c.e!

Take a deep breath...
MV - Underground club sets - love it. That pyramid steel construction (dance parts) - love it. Lights-masks(Sungjoo's set), speakers(Seungyoun), neony mannequin dolls(Wenhan), tvs(Yixuan), red alarm light room(Yibo) + bunch of random props - like it. I like everything! Camera movements tho - makes you a little bit dizzy... Not complaining, just stating! Me satisfied with the mv.
Music - .... sexy groovy saxophone sound - that ish is the key point of 'EOEO'. I like how they've managed to keep us interested/not bored until the very end. Pros would probably say something like - Nice gradation, excellent dynamic or whatever...But you know what I mean... I've enjoyed listening to every little detail of it. Listen carefully and you'll noticed how their vocals/lines/the way they interpret the lyrics, actually, gives this song higher level of dynamic, beside the music.
Lyrics - Partying hard, basically... til the cops come knocking. E.O.E.O is like a police car siren onomatopoeia... Am I right?
Fashion - I have no idea how many times they've changed their clothes... but I like every single piece every single member is wearing. And talkin about 'single'.... Single shots are gold! Accessories and hair styling - on fleek. And yes, I do like what I see at 2:50... perhaps their best looking accessory - the abs, ladies and gents, the glorious abs!
Dance - Can't wait for the live perf... That would be something, for sure... You can see some crazy cool parts of the choreography, but no... that's just a teaser - ain't no doubt it would be the greatest stage perf of all music broadcast station perfs. EOEO chorus parts - kkekekekeke - waves, waves, more waves!
Members - Baby Seungyoun is the cutest rebel ever - I like how he starts and finishes the song with 'Wow, wow....." line - I like that part so much. Baby Yibo is working on his rap skills - that we can see.. even tho he is in charge of being dance machine of the group. And then we have the prince Wenhan with that sweet, sweet, the sweetest voice - he also got more lines...that's cool. Sungjoo babe is all swag with those glances and face/body expressions. And then... the biggest surprise for me - Yixuan's voice blew me away... Like...wow, wow, wow... stop.. and rewind - Hello there, Yixuan...How you doin? (*Joey Tribbiani's face) ... Needless to say - they're so so so good looking. They're perfect. Oh, kpop why you're doing this to me....?

First song that caught my attention this week is this colorful and slightly weird art work.
This girl is an amazing vocalist. She has unique voice color, calm but mysterious aura, and lastly, very distinctive... kinda uncommon music style -that not many could pull off. Jazz meets pop feels.
MV is dope... Like from the set, props, costumes, to the lighting, editing...even her acting/expression matches well with the concept of the song.
Pastels, neon, black.... nicely arranged.
Lim Kim - a cat that says 'Awoo' :)
The other song has a little bit diff vibe from the previous one, but surprisingly it has a similar MV concept.
San E and Yerin (15&) released a duet... a collab song... I love both of them.. He is a funny guy - a 'rap genius', and she is one of my fav kpop female vocals (this song doesn't do the justice to her talent tho).
Anyway, it's a nice, springy song, with the light-springy lyrics/theme.
Colors and balloons...you know I love those... Cute little video... Insta inspired.
Interestingly, the title is cat sound inspired - 'MeYou'... Lim Kim's mv is also cat themed... Cats day today!
Pleasant surprise this morning - Infinite H dropped MV for 'As long as you're not crazy' (random title!) - it's a song from their latest album.
If Dongwoo's in it - I'm pleased! Nice MV - black and white, contrast, two handsome guys, a (cheater) girl... what else can we ask for? While Dongwoo (#CutestDinoOnEarth) and Hoya are rapping, Sanchez (of Fantom) is there to help them with the chorus-singing part. The music is just following their voices - it's there, but the rapping and the singing are providing the flow/dynamic... (that sample at 0:28 - Jeff Bernat - 'Doesn't Matter' - feels!!!)

And then, we have these boys - the sub unit of Block B! BASTARZ! I like sub unit's name. :) The lyrics, tho! The MV, tho! DF! Too bizarre for me... Random! The lyrics are almost incoherent ramblings.. I can feel a bit of Zico's influence( a bit= too much). I don't get it... I don't get the song. On the other side, I'm happy for BBomb, UKwon, and P.O - finally, the spotlight's on them. For the past promotions they were pushed aside a little bit, in Zico's favor, I guess... but now they have their own screen time - time to shine! The music is awesome, their clothes/fashion, the dance... everything is cool, but the lyrics(and the music video)... Unfortunately, I think that's a big miss If you wan't to be taken seriously as an artist... And this song is practically the sub unit's debut song! For the MV - they were going for shock effect/tactic, I get that... but I personally don't like it. Props for the random fashion (BlockB style) and the choreography! I hate comparing the groups (cuz no one owns a particular style/genre/whatevs).. but my first impression was: UKwon-GD; BBomb-Seungri; P.O-T.O.P. And NO, I'M NOT SAYING THEY WERE COPYING BIG BANG, chill!

EXID made a comeback too with 'Ah Yeah'! This song reminds me of 'Up&Down' tbh... Some parts of the music and dance choreo are almost the same, but let's not judge - that was their first and their biggest hit.. So, yeah, why not keep using what's good - they want us to like new song - so they have threw a little bit of a familiar tune from Up&Down in it - and voila, we subconsciously already like it. The lyrics - suggestive... The same concept as 'Up&Down' completely. I do like their outfits! The vocals are not negligible.
Jimin is one of the vocals in JYP's duo(group) 15&. Both, Jimin and Yerin are incredibly talented singers, despite their young age. They are just born to sing and perform... So, that was the first thing that I have noticed after I've watched the mv - her voice is even more polished and more powerful now. And they've(producers) chosen the interesting genre for her first solo song... Sad, emotional, sorrowful melody... and lyrics too - I guess, they wanted to show how much she's improved... to show/justified why was she the one who was given the opportunity to release a solo song. So, yeah... I love her voice, and the whole story line and the mood of the song. Onto the MV. Pretty gloomy, foggy and kinda heavy feel - the kind of a emotion that her character is going through. At the end she is finally letting it go (the ribbon flying in the wind)... Hopeless love is hopeless. You're probably wondering: Who is that cute boy (who is living in blissful ignorance of jimin being in love with him) from the video? That's UNIQ's Seungyeon!!! Long time no see... Aigoooo, that smile!!! I give one more point for the producers! And his hairstyle (my favorite lately).... Kyah...He is so so so cute. Have no idea who the other girl is... Balloons, I looooove balloons!! At the very end - Feelings turned off... I'm (again) all about that clothes used in the video. I want em all (even Seungyeon's)... EXCEPT those white heals - looking too damn chunky with that floral dress.... The music - again, I'm getting the heavy feels... piano mixed with that not sure what it is - drums... definitely some kind of a percussion instruments samples... idk... anyway... it makes me feel kinda down...kinda 'i'm just gonna stare blankly at that wall and think about how short life is....". It's sounds almost like those army marching drums.... when they are going to war... I hate wars... That's why I almost dislike that part... But altogether - I really like the song. Good start, Jimin. Woot, Woot! And how beautiful is her first solo performance! She Slayed It! Props for the stage effects! The dress!

Just to clarify one thing - 'Mamamoo' is a 4 member group... The lady in the white suit is a solo singer - ESNA (I'm not really familiar with her work)... So, this is a colab song.. Anyway... pros could probably distinguish which vocal is the best among the girls, but for me they are equally amazing.
Like the powerful vocals, the song arrangement, instrumentation and tempo changing is remarkable. Groovy.
'Talking' parts are interesting touch - bc the song has those high tones, like....it's loud, and speedy... but the whispering and the low tone talk balances out those highs...
The lyrics are hilarious (link:Mamamoo - Ahh Oop). Teasing the boys...'Just look, don't touch!'
But the MV is my fav part ....clothes and hair styling, to be specific....
As we all know - the 60s and the 70s are back, and their head to toe retro style is def an homage the that era.
Colorful and vintagy 'Magazine pages' shots are so cool and chic, and the 'Salon de Mamamoo' shots are interesting... very detailed...To empathize vintage feels - they've used the not wide screen. Also kinda retro fonts are used...
